Pakistan celebrates four days as “Days of Victory,” PU VC

LAHORE: (Thursday, May 7, 2026): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali said that the entire Pakistani nation is celebrating these four days as a “Days of Victory,” which marks an important milestone in the country’s history. He was addressing the closing ceremony of the three-day All Pakistan Media Fest organized by the Department of Student Affairs, Pioneer Media Society at Faisal Auditorium. On this occasion, MPA and PU’s Syndicate member Chaudhry Muhammad Yousaf Kaselia, former Health Minister Dr. Saeed Elahi, DG SES Prof Dr. Rehan Sadiq Shaikh, Director Student Affairs Dr. Shahzaib Khan, faculty members and a large number of students were present. In his address, PU VC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali said that due to the unity of the Pakistan Armed Forces, national and political solidarity, the country has gained renewed energy and it has been proven that unity enables the nation to confront every challenge firmly. He said that when India attacked Pakistan, no one among us was afraid. He further stated that in the “Battle of Truth,” Pakistan shot down 11 enemy aircrafts through intellectual capability, adding that those who brought down the enemy aircrafts were graduates of Pakistani universities. He said that when a nation stands united in support of its armed forces, any war can be won. He said that previously few people knew about Islamabad, but now everyone is talking about “Islamabad Talks,” and Pakistan has become so important that even President Trump repeatedly mentions the country’s name. He said that Pakistan saved the world from a third world war, which is a matter of pride. He congratulated Pakistan’s political and military leadership as well as the public, saying that today Pakistan’s positive image is being highlighted around the world. He emphasized that the fundamental purpose of universities is to polish students’ personalities and knowledge so they can become responsible citizens. He noted that science, technology, and artificial intelligence hold key importance in the modern era, and that Pakistani youth are illuminating the country’s name globally through their abilities. He appreciated the tireless efforts of Pioneer Media Society President student Ahmed Bajwa for successfully organizing the Media Fest and praised the efforts of the organizers. Dr. Shahzaib Khan expressed gratitude to VC Dr. Muhammad Ali, saying that without his support, organizing the festival would not have been possible. He said it was a difficult task that was completed with the cooperation of sponsors without putting any extra financial burden on the university. He added that the three-day Media Fest included musical programs, poetry recitals, and various competitions for students.
