The Biosafety and Bio-resource Committee is organizing a Workshop on Biosafety and Risk Assessment on 19th April, 2014. Biosafety and Bio-resource Committee has been founded in 2013 by the Vice Chancellor of The University of The Punjab, Lahore. Major task of this committee is to evaluate the biological research proposals - submitted to the research office for external/internal grants – on the basis of standard biosafety and risk assessment guidelines. This workshop will feature presentations and posters on an array of biosafety related topics. This workshop is specifically designed to provide general awareness among faculty and research students/scholars regarding the widespread impact of biosafety, risk assessment and risk management on many aspects of biotechnology, biodiversity, ecology, and safety in the workplace. In addition to that we will briefly introduce major tasks of the Biosafety and Bio-resource Committee and our methods/criteria for evaluating the project proposals.

Poster Competition
|
The Poster Competition is open to students actively working towards B.S, M.Sc, M.S, M.Phil. or doctoral degree. Please send your abstracts for this session to tumormetabolism@gmail.com. Abstracts for posters should be sent before April 10th , 2014. The participants of this session are required to get registered for the workshop. The posters will be displayed from 9:00 to 15:45 on April 19th , 2014. |
