PU Admission Committee reviews measures to enhance student’s enrolment

LAHORE: (Saturday, August 8, 2026): A meeting of the Punjab University Admission Committee was held under the chairmanship of Pro Vice Chancellor / Chairman Admission Committee Prof. Dr. Mahmood Saleem. The meeting focused primarily on exploring options to enhance enrolment by 4,000–5,000 students in BS 1st semester and BS 5th semester admissions for the academic session 2026–27. The Deans and heads of relevant academic units were requested to identify departments and programmes having the capacity to accommodate additional students, subject to availability of applicants. The Committee also reviewed the current admission-related work and discussed measures for improving enrolment while maintaining academic standards and available institutional capacity. Prof. Dr. Mahmood Saleem emphasized the importance of making effective use of the University's academic capacity and providing increased opportunities to prospective students through a well-planned admission process.
