PU QEC organizes workshop LAHORE: (Friday, March 6, 2020): Punjab University Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) organised a special workshop for reinstatement of several PhD and MPhil programmes. Dean Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Abid Hussain Chaudhry, Dean Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood, Director QEC Dr. Muhammad Saeed, heads and focal persons of various departments were present in the meeting. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Abid Hussain Chaudhry said that last year MPhil and PhD programmes were suddenly closed and this workshop would help restore these programmes. He said PU has already sent request for reinstatement of closed progrmmes while HoDs were taking steps for the remaining programmes. Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood said PU administration positively welcomed the HEC evaluation of MS, MPhil and PhD programmes. He said our most programmes closed due to student-teacher ratio. We are increasing the number of PhD faculty further. Later, the participants gave their suggestion in this regards. At the end, Director QEC Dr Muhammad Saeed thanked the participants and in consultation with them announced to submit the complete data of MPhil/PhD programs to QEC by March 20, 2020, so that for the reopening of halted/further in take stopped programs, HEC may be contacted.
