LAHORE : (Sunday, May 15, 2011): Provincial Education Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman visited the Punjab University book fair on the last day evening, organized by the varsity administration, faculty and students here at New Campus. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, administrative officers, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Talking to media-men Provincial Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said the Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran deserved appreciation on organizing such a successful book fair in a well-disciplined manner and the sale of record number of books was quite surprising. It seemed the sale of books had revived book-reading culture in the society, he added. Mian Mujtaba said the book fair had provided maximum facilities to the visitors, and books on discounted rates, as compared to last years, had urged the visitors to purchase books. He said such positive activities must be organized to promote education in the country and the government would provide all-out support in this regard.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran commended the efforts of administrative officers, faculty members and students for making the event all success and encouraged their participation in future activities.
