LAHORE: (Tuesday, November 27, 2012 27, 2012): Punjab University Centre for South Asian Studies in collaboration with Political Science organized a one day seminar on “Realizing Options, Outlets and Opportunities for Post – 2014 Afghanistan”, at seminar hall of CSAS. Director CSAS & Chairperson Department of Political Science Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid gave welcome address while the key note speaker was Dr Najam Abbas Senior Fellow at East-West Institute, Belgium on Central and South Asian affairs. Dr Najam Said that war in Afghanistan had manifested new realities leading to new opportunities. He said that US wanted withdrawal of its forces from Afghanistan but also wanted to restrain the influence of China, Russia and Iran. Later, Dr Umbreen Javed presented souvenir to the guest.
