LAHORE: (Monday, December 10, 2012): A meeting of Punjab University Dean’s committee was held at the Committee Room of Vice Chancellor’s office here on Monday in which deans of various faculties participated. The dean’s committee took serious exception and concern of the violent incident took place in Punjab University on Friday, December 7. In this unfortunate incident, a group of politically motivated students committed violence on the University Chief Security Officer (CSO) Maj (r) Imtiaz Butt and 4 guards. The deviant students also committed hooliganism and created environment of fear and terror. The deans termed this incident extremely shameful and unbecoming to the status of a country’s most prestigious university. It was resolved that PU will aggressively pursue the case, identify the criminals and punish them as varsity rules and law of the land. University will establish it writ and ensure the security of its employees at all cost.
