Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS) celebrated its 56 years of academic excellence at Alumni Dinner on 22nd December 2018. Alumni from all five decades were represented at the dinner. While addressing the audience, Dean Faculty of Economics & Management Sciences and Director Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS), Prof. Dr. Nasira Jabeen shared the valuable achievements and journey of institute’s success from previous years. She shared the community development projects by IAS alumni including the Dastarkhaan project that provide healthy and balanced meals for 70 employees at IAS, furnishing the alumni office and providing assistance to fresh graduates in securing and creating employment opportunities. Dignitaries and professionals from all walks of life were the part of the event. Few alumni shared their expressions for the alma mater, the value it added to their personality and the contributions they can offer to give back to the institute. Mr. Muhammad Saleem Ahmad Ranjha – founding Director of Akhuwat and Federal Secretary Benazir Income Support Program, Mr. Shahid Mehmood – Director Artwork, Mr. Muhammad Asif – Secretary Foreign Affairs, Mr. Asad Raza – visiting faculty IAS, Mr. Javed Iqbal Sheikh - Advocate, Mr. Nasir Javed Chowdhry – Managing Director Medipak Pharma, & Mr. Tahir Khattak – International modern trade executive at Shan Foods shared their expressions.
Some more prominent alumni who have been contributed much for the institute including Mr. Tasleem SanaUllah – Ex Director WASA LDA Lahore, Mr. Jamil Ahmad Khan – senior Vice President NBP, Mr. Abid Sherwani – Director General UMT, Mr. Ijaz Nisar –President Management House, Mr. Pervaiz M Janjua – Ex Vice President Bank Alfalah, Ms. Kanwal Bokharey – Deputy Director USAID, Mr. Zia ul Haq – Head Business Development, Pakistan Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd., Mr. Aamir Khan Managing Director Al-Aziz developers and Director/trustee Chand Bagh foundation, Mr. Waheed Ansari – Managing Director Punjab Seed Corporation , were also present at the occasion. A large number of visiting faculty members including Dr. Khalida Amjad, Mr. Amjad Ali, Dr. Shahid A. Zia – Director AISEM, Mr. Sohail Ahmad – Ex Chairman Planning & Development department, Govt. of Punjab. Mr. Attique Ahmad – ICT & Project Management Professional, Mr. Farhan Shabbir – HR Consultant, Mr. Farooq A.  Randhawa – Additional Director HR Punjab Healthcare commission and Mr. Shahzad Bukhari – Executive Director Action Consulting Pvt. Ltd. also joined. The families of former chairpersons/directors of IAS including Prof. Dr. M. Afzal (late), Dr. A. R. Jafri and Dr. Zafar Iqbal Jadoon were presented with flower bouquets as a token of love & appreciation and for paying them a tribute for their untiring efforts towards the development of the institute.
Mr. Shahid Lone – IAS alumnus and Executive Director, Mansha Brothers was presented with souvenirs in acknowledgement of taking the initiative of Dastarkhan project at IAS. The same project is now being replicated at other departments of the University for the welfare of the employees. The program included the melodious performances by multitalented graduates of IAS for entertainment of the audience. Performers included Mr. Haris Jamil, Ms. Warda Rana and Muhammad Effendi – Musician at Nescafe Basement performed. Alumni enjoyed the chance of networking with their fellows and former teachers whom they were meeting after so many years. The institute plans to organize more meet ups in smaller groups to enhance the liaison with the alumni and providing them a chance to interact with the students. Some alumni living abroad shared their video messages from UK, Germany, UAE and different cities of Pakistan showing their love and respect for the institute and teachers. The video messages received from Mr. Muhammad Safdar Malik (UK), Dr. Musa Shaikh (UAE), Ms. Sanam Mujeeb Sheikh (Pakistan), Mr. Nouman Aziz Mughal (Germany) and Mr. Mian Mohsin Zia (Pakistan) have been shared at IAS Official social media and web pages.
