LAHORE: (Tuesday, January 29, 2012): Punjab University Centre for South Asian Studies in collaboration with Department of Political Science organized one day seminar on “Information Network Village and Regional Development” here on Tuesday. Department of Public Administration University of Incheon, Korea Prof Dr Jin Wan Seo threw light on the topic. The lecture was attended by faculty members and students. Prof Dr Wan Seo enlightened the participants through his experience about the importance of information technology. He said that every country had to be smart enough to indulge within the new technologies. He said the Korean government with the centralized efforts had developed the rural areas to get maximum awareness among the villagers. He said the village planning with technological advancement enhanced the manpower, their life style and elevated their social structures. The government also built information centres to uplift social and economic setups. Dr Jin emphasized that the information networks had the power for regional development.
