Marking the advent of spring season, various departments of University of the Punjab organize sports day every year. Keeping up with this tradition, Centre for Clinical Psychology organized Sports Day on the 21st of March 2013. The color theme for the event was blue, yellow and purple as these colors represent spring. The pleasant weather and colorful arrangements were nice break from the usually hectic academic routine.

Faculty and students participated fully in the event adding wonderful flair to the event. The chief guest, Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Director Sports, University of the Punjab and Director Institute of Business and Information Technology, inaugurated the event. After inauguration, the chief guest in company of Dr. Prof. Rukhsana Kausar and faculty members graciously went around surveying the stalls, which was encouraging for the students and the organizers. Stalls included delicious eatables, exquisite handmade jewelry and goodies made by special children. In addition, Pakistan Association of Clinical Psychologists set up a special stall, and students of Centre for Clinical Psychology were offered membership at special discounted rates.

Activities formally started with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Dr. Professor Rukhsana Kausar thanked the chief guest for gracing the event with his presence. Through her speech, she also highlighted the importance of sports in maintaining mental health, and appreciated the student's advisory committee, faculty members and students for their efforts.

The special children welcome the guests by presenting a special song in their honor. Following these proceedings, indoor and outdoor games began. These games included but were not limited to badminton, cricket, throw ball, tug-of-war, sack race, ludo and rally race. The highlight of the event was the amazing display of Karate skills by the students of Centre for Clinical Psychology. They exhibited their skills related to self-defense, tile breaking. The audience really appreciated and supported the participants. The event also included humorous poetry recitation and skits much to the delight of the attendees.

After the conclusion of the games, Dr. Prof. Rukhsana Kausar, Director Center for Clinical Psychology honored the winning students with certificates. Following which, she shared her views regarding the whole event. She expressed her immense pleasure for the efforts and skills that the students utilized to organize and arrange such a beautiful event. Finally, the audience was treated with a slide show with pictures from the sports events from last few years organized by the department. This brought the wonderful event to its conclusion.
