PU organizes workshop on ‘Thesis Writing’

LAHORE: (Monday, January 14, 2013): Punjab University Pakistan Study Centre (PSC) organized a workshop for doctoral and M. Phil. students in the social sciences who are writing a dissertation on issues relating to Pakistan’s history, culture, politics, leadership and foreign relations. Eminent historian and expert of South Asian Affairs, Dr. Pippa Virdee, DeMontfort University, United Kingdom, Director PSC Prof. Dr. Massarrat Abid run the workshop while the students of History and Pakistan Studies’ M. Phil and Ph.D, who have completed their course work and are in the stage of designing their research proposals, attended the workshop. Students were provided with some reading material on the research methodology followed with a lecturer by Dr. Pippa Virdee explaining the requirements of a good research design and structure of thesis. The workshop was spread over two days. The first session was held on Friday, January 11, 2013 while the second one was convened on Monday, January 14, 2013.
