Completion of Post-Doctoral Research at the Institute of Urdu Language & Literature

Dr. Muhammad Asim has successfully completed his post-doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen. Dr. Muhammad Asim is currently serving as Director at the Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture (PILAC), Department of Information and Culture, Punjab. The title of his research project was “Modern Trends in Translation: A Research Study.”
In this research, Dr. Muhammad Asim has presented a comprehensive analysis of contemporary theories in Urdu translation studies, along with its linguistic and intellectual dimensions and the increasingly significant role of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Furthermore, through a comparative study of human and AI-based translations, the research critically examines translation quality, linguistic characteristics, cultural context, and contemporary requirements. This scholarly work constitutes a valuable academic contribution to the advancement of Urdu translation studies, opens new avenues for modern research, and highlights the evolving relationship between technology and language.
