PU CCP organizes stakeholders’ consultative meeting to develop reformative strategies for drug demand reduction

LAHORE: (Tuesday, July 14, 2026): Punjab University Centre for Clinical Psychology in collaboration with Phoenix Foundation organized a “Consultative Meeting of Stakeholders to Develop Reformative Strategies for Drug Demand Reduction”. PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali chaired while Vice Chancellor, Lahore Garrison University Maj. General (r) Muhammad Khalil Dar, DG Health, Punjab Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Director Public Instructions (DPI Colleges) Dr. Syed Ansar Azhar, Director Punjab Counter Narcotics Force Lt. Col.(r) Mehr Faisal Liaqat Lak, Executive Director PIMH Lahore Prof. Dr. Ayesha Rashid, DCO Punjab Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Dr. Ahmad Khawar Shahzad, Director CCP Prof. Dr. Saima Dawood, representatives of HED, Home Department, eminent academicians, researchers, clinicians from across the country participated also attended the meeting. PU VC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali thanked the stakeholders to highlight the issue and remedial proposals to save the society from that cancer. Dr. Saima Dawood thanked the VC and the honorable guests and briefed about the Centre’s initiatives to achieve the targets. Dr Saima also thanked the participants for their commitment to addressing one of the most pressing social and mental health challenges being faced by our society. Dr. Noor Zaman Rafique CEO, Phoenix Foundation and Rashida Saif Niazi highlighted the main objectives of the meeting and apprised that they gathered to deliberate on practical and sustainable strategies for drug demand reduction in Pakistan. All the participants exchanged their views, experiences and shared the valued suggestions to achieve the goals to develop reformative strategies for drug demand reduction in Pakistan.
