No illegal demand can be accepted: PU Registrar

LAHORE: (Thursday, April 18, 2019): Punjab University Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan has said that the university administration was acting as per law and all the problems of PU employees are already being solved on merit. However, he said, the administration would not accept any pressure and no one would be allowed to establish illegal associations at PU. In a press statement, he said that for the first time in the last 2 decades, employees had been appointed on the top administrative posts and employees were being promoted on merit without any hurdles. Therefore, he said, the protest of the employees was illegal and without any reason. He said that PU was an autonomous institution and there was no space for APCA at the university as per University Calendar. He said that no one could be allowed to disrupt peaceful academic environment on campus. He said that some external elements were involved behind the move however, it had met failure because out of 6,000 non-teaching employees, only a few dozen violated the PU rules with some external elements.
