PUCP host a conference at Pharma Expo


LAHORE: (Thursday, February 22, 2024): Punjab University College of Pharmacy hosted a part of the conference in the Pak Pharma Expo at Expo Centre. In the event the college brought together key players in the pharmaceutical industry to showcase the latest advancements and techniques to foster collaborations between academia and industry. Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood inaugurated the event while PUCP Principal Prof Dr Syed Atif Raza, pharmacists, industrialists and others were also present. The event drew a diverse audience, including industrialists CEO NovaMed Muhammad Idrees, CEO Air Pharma Prof Dr Hamayun Riaz, CEO MRA Engineering Ameen, Abu Bakar, Farooq Bashir Butt and many others who reconnected with their alma mater by signing Letter of Understanding between PUCP and their respective industries for research collaboration and Support. Prof Dr Hamid Saeed and Prof Dr Furqan Hashmi emphasized on the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry for mutual growth and innovation. PUCP’s set up an impressive stall to demonstrate their research initiatives and academic programs in the event. Prof Dr Syed Atif Raza with faculty member including Dr Imran Tariq, Prof Dr Nasir Abbas and Dr Khalil ur Rehman presented the emerging technologies in Pharmaceutical sciences. He appreciated to the Pak Pharma Expo who served as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking opportunities and discussions on key issues facing the pharmaceutical sector in Pakistan. He said with a focus on innovation and collaboration, the event underscored the importance of partnership between academia and industry in driving progress and excellence in the field.
