World Environment Week and Earth Day Celebration at Institute of Zoology, University of the Punjab


As we embark on World Environment Week, a time dedicated to honoring our planet and promoting sustainability, we are thrilled to announce our World Environment Week and Earth Day Celebration that took place at Institute of Zoology at University of the Punjab, Lahore. The event was arranged by Character Building Society (CBS) of Institute of Zoology at University under kind supervision of Prof. Dr. Nabila Roohi, Director Institute of Zoology, PU, Lahore.
A walk was arranged by the students and faculty from the Institute to Vice Chancellor Office, in which students were holding play cards, banners and raising slogans to make Earth greener and cleaner. The worthy Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts and highlighted the importance of celebrating this week by his precious words: “World Environment Week is a time for us to come together and make a positive impact on our planet. By celebrating Earth Day and planting trees, we are taking steps towards a more sustainable future.”
The Director Institute of Zoology also shared her views by saying: “Planting trees is a powerful way to mitigate climate change and restore our ecosystems. Let's join hands this World Environment Week to create a greener, healthier world for future generations." The worthy director also planted a tree.
Moreover, model competition was also arranged under supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdul Majid Khan in which students showcased their talent through their models by emphasizing the importance of sustainable future for healthy environment.
The Prof. Dr. Nabila Roohi also plant a tree at garden of Institute of Zoology along with faculty members and students.
The respected faculty memebers; Prof. Dr Abid Butt and Dr. Ali Hussain and Dr. Bushra Nisar Khan [coordinator, Character Building Society (CBS)] also graced the event. The student the celebration and took oath to protect the enviroment and planet earth.
