Students Mobilization Seminar "Promoting Peace through Youth Engagement" held on 14th December, 2018 (Friday)


Institute of Applied Psychology, Punjab University in collaboration with College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES) and Centre for Health and Gender Equality organized a Students Mobilization Seminar promoting Peace through Youth Engagement on 14th December 2018. The Director of The Institute of Applied Psychology Prof. Dr. Farah Malik was the Chief Guest of the seminar. The seminar started with the recitation of Holy Quran and Naat, followed by a lecture given by Mr. Zakariya Hashmi from Makhotay Theatre, who enriched the audience by discussing the roots of peace in arts and dramatics and how arts can be helpful in bringing peace in the society after that Mr. Nazar Abass, Pakistan’s Youngest flute player, discussed the importance of music for a peaceful mind and the extinction of classical music from our society, he mesmerized everyone with a beautiful flute performance. Mr. Muslim Shagan talked about classical music and its importance in maintaining peace. Prof. Dr. Farah Malik highlighted the importance of need of peace in our society and how music and arts is a great means to achieve peace. The Director motivated the students to participate in such forums and sensitize students regarding the need of peace attainment. A bouquet was presented as Token of Appreciation to Prof. Dr. Farah Malik by Mr. Muhammad Pervaz, Mr. Muhammad Basit and Ms. Zara.
