PU HCBF’s 11th convocation - Creation of new knowledge prime responsibility of the varsities, Governor Punjab


LAHORE: (Wednesday, May 3, 2023): Governor Punjab / Chancellor Punjab University Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman has said that the creation of new knowledge was the prime responsibility of universities. He was addressing the 11th convocation of Punjab University Hailey College of Banking & Finance (HCBF) at a private hotel. On this occasion, PU VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, HCBF Principal Dr Ahmed Muneeb Mehta, Religious Scholar Allama Dr Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Registrar Tasneem Kamran, Controller of Examinations Muhammad Rauf Nawaz, faculty members, students and their parents were present.

In his address, the Governor congratulated the students who received degrees and medals to their parents and teachers. He said that teachers and parents should work together to build the character of students. He said that research should be done before believing any fake news on social media. He said that the youth who do not get jobs need not be disappointed by the mercy of Allah Almighty. Baligh-ur-Rehman said that all the governments spend on education due to which many public sector institutions give better results than private institutions. He advised the students to adopt truth, honesty and good behavior to achieve success in life. He said that every religion and political party should be respected for peace in the country.

PU VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood said that it is a matter of pride for you to graduate from the oldest and great university of Pakistan. He said that this was a memorable moment for students with their parents, teachers and friends. He said that the students are the ambassadors of PU and they should make a name for themselves in the world with their skills. The VC said that PU HCBF was one of the best institutions. He said that the doors of Punjab University will always be open for the graduating students. HCBF Principal Dr Ahmed Muneeb Mehta said that he was making efforts for providing the best teaching environment to the students and it was his top priority. He said that the launch of new programs in the college will benefit the students. Later, 252 certificates and medals were distributed among the students who have successfully completed the BBA (Hons.) (4-year), (2-year) and MBA (3 ½) programs.
