Pak, India must resolve issues for regional prosperity: Dr Mujahid Mansoori


LAHORE: (Thursday, January 10, 2019): Renowned analyst Dr Mujahid Mansoori has said that Pakistan and India should resolve their old conflicts and confusions through dialogue in a peaceful environment, which would contribute to regional prosperity and help improve living conditions of the people. He was chairing a session at international conference on ‘Democracy, Governance and Security: Perspective from South Asia’ at Punjab University. The conference was jointly organized by PU Department of Political Science, Centre for South Asian Studies and Lahore Centre for Peace Research. Dean Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid, faculty members, research scholars and a large number of students were present on the occasion. LCPR Executive Director Prof Dr Mujahid Mansoori said that stability and security of whole South Asian region through democracy and good governance was common national need and way for all SAARC countries. He said that adopting this approach, governments and civil societies of Pakistan and India would have to come off their long-standing issues jointly. Addressing the concluding session of the conference, Dr Umbreen paid extreme gratitude to foreign and national participants, guests, scholars and the audience. She said that more than 70 presenters had read their papers and had given insightful observation in the conference.
