The natural instinct supports that something visualized in real can easily be perceived than something memorized theoretically. Practical learning can be well-envisaged and better incorporated in the mind. For this purpose, Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics arranged the educational visit to the Zoological Museum, located in Quaid-e-Azam Campus, University of the Punjab, Lahore. Under the supervision of Dr. Samreen Riaz (Assistant Professor Dept. of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics), the students of BS- 3rd Semester (Session: 2018-2022) visited the museum on Friday 18th October, 2019. Although the International Animal Biodiversity Day is celebrated every year on 22nd May, but the specific semester duration urged us to arrange this seminar in October. The students got acquaintedwith the diverse phyla of zoological entities; from less organized invertebrates to the advanced vertebrates. Taxidermy along-with Paleontology, well explained the striking features of remarkable nature. Undoubtedly we got well familiar with the biodiversity of animals after this visit. We, wholeheartedly, pay special thanks to Prof. Dr. Sikandar Sultan (Chairman Dept. of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics), our subject in-charge Dr. Samreen Riaz and Assistant Museum Curator Syed Shabbir Hussain and other staff members for their guidance and support to make this visit successful. |
