LAHORE: (Thursday, September 05, 2013): Punjab University has displayed 1st merit list of successful candidates of M Phil and PhD in all disciplines on Thursday. PU Institute of Communication Studies (PU ICS) has also displayed the first merit list of M.Phil and PhD admissions, according to which 15 candidates have qualified for PhD admission, 15 for M.Phil Research Track and 20 for M.Phil Professional Track. The successful candidates have been directed to submit fee after producing original certificates and the second list will be displayed on Saturday. According to details for PhD admission a total 45 candidates submitted applications, 43 appeared in the written test and 27 qualified for interview and 23 declared successful after calculation of total aggregate. Out of 23 as many as 5 candidates disqualify in GAT Subject test reducing the number to 18. ICS has displayed list of 15 candidates and 3 candidates are in the waiting list. For admission to M.Phil Research Track 177 candidates submitted applications, out of which 160 appeared in the test and 48 qualified for the interview and 26 declared successful after calculation of total aggregate. One candidate disqualify GAT General Test. ICS has displayed first merit list of 15 candidates in 10 are in the waiting list. For M.Phil Professional Track, a total 207 candidates submitted applications, out of which 181 appeared in the test and 42 qualified for interview and 24 declared successful after calculation of total aggregate. 2 candidates couldn’t qualify in GAT General Test and 2 remained fail to submit required documents. ICS has displayed merit list of all 20 successful candidates. To ensure transparency, for the first time in the history of ICS, fictitious number were placed instead of roll numbers and names of the candidates, to ensure there is no human bias in evaluation process. All papers were reviewed multiple times by all members of the committee before announcement of the result. It in note worthy for M.Phil/ PhD admissions the criteria of HEC and PU DPCC is being adopted according to which 50 marks are for academic qualifications, 40 marks for written test and 10 marks for interview. The list of successful candidates has been displayed on the Notice Board of PU ICS. The second and third lists will be displayed on Saturday and Tuesday respectively.
