Technology to develop creative projects is commendable, impressive: VC

LAHORE: (Wednesday, May 13, 2026): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali said that the students’ use of technology to develop creative projects on commercial grounds is highly commendable and impressive. He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the thesis exhibition organized by the PU’s Department of Graphic Design. On this occasion, Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof Dr. Mehboob Hussain, Principal College of Art and Design Prof Dr. Samina Naseem, Chairman Department of Graphic Design Dr. Ahmad Bilal, faculty members, and a large number of students were present.
The exhibition showcased 30 projects created by MFA students, featuring creative ideas for promoting local brands. Students also presented various concepts aimed at raising awareness about social issues. In his address, PU VC Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali said that the projects also focused on social responsibility and campaigns related to environmental changes. He added that some of the students’ graphic design projects had already been purchased by companies. He further stated that the college is offering professional degree programs, and nearly 100 percent of their students secure employment after graduation. Dr. Ahmad Bilal said that the students had reached their final theses after a long and challenging journey, and the range of topics they worked on was truly comprehensive. He added that the exhibition not only represents the completion of a degree but also opens new avenues for the department. He further said that the department is looking forward to introducing specialized programs in Game Design and Film & VFX in line with global industry trends and to further expand its curriculum.
