IAP and Punjab Prisons Conduct 12-Week Training for Psychology Students


Lahore – The Institute of Applied Psychology (IAP), University of the Punjab, in collaboration with the Punjab Prison Department, conducted a 12-week training program for MPhil Applied Psychology students.
Interns Fatima Qadeer and Bisma Ehsan gained hands-on experience in forensic psychology, inmate rehabilitation, and mental health interventions. The training, held at the Inspectorate General of Punjab Prisons and District Jail Lahore, covered prison operations, ethical guidelines, security procedures, and case history assessments.
Interns also participated in Mental Health Day activities, juvenile inmate visits, and research work at District Jail Sheikhupura. The program combined theoretical sessions on prison laws and conflict management with practical workshops, enhancing students' understanding of forensic psychology while contributing to inmate and staff well-being.
