LAHORE: (Monday, April 13, 2026): Chinese Consul General in Lahore, Mr. Sun Yan visited Punjab University and called on the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, at his office here on Monday. On this occasion, Registrar Dr Ahmad Islam, Dean Faculty of Health Sciences Prof Dr Rehan Sadiq Sheikh, Director PU Confucius Institute Dr Sobia Khurram, Treasurer Tasneem Kamran and others were also present. During the meeting, both sides discussed various proposals aimed at enhancing mutual academic collaboration between China and Pakistan. Special focus was given to the further development and expansion of the Confucius Institute at PU, with an emphasis on promoting Chinese language, culture, and educational exchange programs. The meeting also highlighted the strong and longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries. In this regard, the participants celebrated 75 years of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening ties in the fields of education, research, and cultural exchange. The dignitaries expressed optimism about future collaborations and agreed to work closely to create more opportunities for students and faculty through joint initiatives and academic partnerships.
