Successful Conclusion of 5-Day DNA Sequencing Workshop at CEMB


LAHORE: (Friday, February 02, 2024): The highly anticipated 5-day DNA Sequencing training workshop, jointly organized by the Centre for Applied Molecular Biology (CAMB) and the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), reached its successful conclusion today at the CEMB facility. The event, presided over by the esteemed founding director of CEMB, Prof. Dr. Sheikh Riazuddin, witnessed the participation of eminent figures in the field of Molecular Biology.

The ceremony was graced by Prof Dr Rehan Sadiq (Director CAMB) and senior professor Prof Dr Kausar Malik (Ex-Director CEMB). Faculty members and participants from diverse institutes across Pakistan added to the richness of the event.

Prof. Dr. Rehan Sadiq extended a warm welcome to the audience, highlighting the significance of the workshop in advancing DNA sequencing expertise in the country. During the ceremony, participants from esteemed institutes such as University of Sindh Jamshoro, Baqai Medical University, Bacha Khan Medical College Mardan, and many others, shared their perspectives on the enriching workshop sessions conducted over the 5-day period.

Prof Dr Sheikh Riazuddin congratulated the participants, acknowledging the efforts of Dr Farooq Sabar and the organizing team. He highlighted the pivotal role the Centre has played as a pioneering institute of Molecular Biology in Pakistan and expressed optimism for the continuity of such workshops in the future. He expressed hope that the knowledge gained during the workshop will contribute significantly to advancements in Molecular Biology across the country.

The event concluded with Prof Dr Kausar Malik delivering a vote of thanks to both participants and the esteemed guest of honor. The distribution of souvenirs to participants and organizers by Prof Dr Riazuddin served as a symbolic gesture of appreciation, marking the successful culmination of the 5-day DNA Sequencing training workshop.
