Successful Ph.D. public defense of Ms. Syeda Narjis Sherazi

The Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab, Lahore, proudly announces the successful Ph.D. public defense of Ms. Syeda Narjis Sherazi, who presented her dissertation titled “Role of Criminal Social Identity, Healthy Thinking Patterns, Coping Strategies and Positive Interpersonal Relations in Affecting Probationers.” The research was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Emeritus Dr. Najma Najam and focused on understanding the psychological and social factors that influence the adjustment and rehabilitation of probationers.
The dissertation explored the role of criminal social identity, healthy thinking patterns, coping strategies, and positive interpersonal relations in shaping the psychosocial functioning of individuals on probation. The study offers valuable insights into evidence-based approaches that can support rehabilitation, promote positive behavioral change, and facilitate successful reintegration into society.
The public defense was held on June 10, 2026, at the Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. Director of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Iram Fatima, along with faculty members, researchers, and students, attended the defense and participated in the scholarly discussion. Their presence reflected the Institute’s strong commitment to fostering academic excellence and impactful psychological research.
