The Institute of Applied Psychology proudly announces the successful Ph.D. public defense of Ms. Iqra Nazar, a Ph.D. scholar in Applied Psychology, who presented her dissertation titled "Psychosocial Impact of Autoimmune Skin Conditions in Young Individuals." The research was conducted under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Fatima Kamran and examined the psychological and social consequences of autoimmune skin conditions in young individuals, emphasizing the need for comprehensive psychosocial support alongside medical care.
The dissertation was evaluated by two distinguished external experts: Prof. Shameem Fatima, Tenured Professor of Psychology and former Chairperson at COMSATS University Islamabad, and Prof. Dr. Masha Asad Khan, Professor and Dean of Postgraduate Studies at Kinnaird College for Women, Pakistan. Their valuable scholarly observations and constructive feedback enriched the academic discussion and highlighted the significance of interdisciplinary research in health psychology.
Director, Prof. Dr. Iram Fatima, along with faculty members Professor Dr. Rafia Rafique, and Associate Professor Dr. Afifa Anjum, attended the defense. The event was also witnessed by MS, M.Phil., and Ph.D. scholars, providing an excellent opportunity for academic learning and scholarly engagement. The successful defense reflected the Institute's continued commitment to fostering impactful research that addresses contemporary psychological and health-related issues.
