LAHORE: (Tuesday, June 30, 2026): Punjab University has achieved another remarkable milestone in research at both the national and international levels. The globally renowned scientific publishing organization, Nature Publishing Group, has ranked PU as the No. 1 University in Pakistan. Established in 1869, Nature Publishing Group is one of the world's most prestigious organizations dedicated to the publication and promotion of high-quality scientific research. PU secured the top position in Pakistan with a score of 6.88 points. According to the spokesperson, despite being a comprehensive (general) university, PU outperformed even the country's specialized science universities in the ranking. He further said that the university's faculty members and students congratulated Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali on this outstanding achievement. He added that PU's research-friendly policies under the present administration have played a key role in enabling the university to attain the No. 1 position in scientific research.
