On June 10, 2026, the oral defense (viva voce examination) of the PhD dissertation titled “Translations of English Books on Literary Criticism: A Critical Review” was held at the Institute of Urdu Language and Literature.
The researcher, Qamar Abbas Alvi, completed the dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Zahid Munir Amir. The external examiners were Dr. Sher Ali (Alhamd University, Islamabad) and Dr. Shahid Nawaz (University of Sargodha).
During the examination, the scholar confidently presented the contents, methodology, and findings of the research in detail. The examiners highly appreciated the quality of the research work and congratulated the scholar, the supervisor, and the Director of the Institute, Dr. Baseera Ambreen, on the successful completion of the study. They unanimously declared the scholar worthy of the award of the PhD degree.
The event was attended by students and faculty members including Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Dr. Aneela Saleem, Dr. Sajid Siddique Nizami, and Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad. Dr. Waheed-ur-Rehman Khan, Dean of the University of Education, was also present on the occasion.
