PU CEMB organizes condolence reference


LAHORE: (Monday, November 20, 2023): Punjab University Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB) conducted a condolence reference to pay tribute to for the contributions and achievements of Prof Dr Ashraf Tahir, an adjunct professor at CEMB and pioneer of Forensic Sciences in Pakistan. On this occasion, PU VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Director CEMB Prof Dr Moazur Rahman, founding Director CEMB Prof Dr Sheikh Riazuddin, DG Punjab Forensic Science Agency Dr Muhammad Amjad, faculty members, eminent researchers and scientists were present. In his address, PU VC Dr Khalid Mahmood took the opportunity to familiarize faculty, researchers, and students with the remarkable contributions and achievements of Prof Ashraf Tahir in the field of forensic sciences. He expressed gratitude for Prof Ashraf Tahir's unwavering commitment to advancing the frontiers of knowledge in forensic sciences. Amidst the tribute, the VC underscored the importance of carrying forward Prof Ashraf Tahir's vision and commitment to excellence in scientific pursuits. Dr Moazur Rahman, shared his perspective on recognizing the accomplishments of the esteemed late scientist, affirming that the CEMB family pays tribute to the departed individual. Dr Ahmad Ali Shahid shed light on the humility and kind-hearted nature of Dr Ashraf Tahir. Prof Dr Sheikh Riazuddin shared insights into the remarkable achievements and enduring impact that Prof Ashraf Tahir had on the university and the field of forensic sciences. Dr Muhammad Amjad also shared his perspectives on the life and scientific achievements of Prof Ashraf Tahir.
