LAHORE: (Friday, January 22, 2021): Punjab University has awarded PhD degree to Muhammad Akmal Somroo S/o Manzoor Hussain in the subject of Political Science after approval of his thesis entitled ‘Geo-Strategic and Geo-Economic Relations Between Kingdon of Saudi Arabia and United States: Concerns and Prospects (2001-2018)’. Mr Akmal Soomro is an eminent journalist who is working as a senior correspondent and analyst at City 42 TV. Mr Akmal Soomro has contributed dozens of feature articles on colonialism and has highlighted various contemporary issues in historical perspective. He is also a critique of post colonial educational policies and has highlighted the colonization of Sub Continent by the East India Company through his research. Mr Soomro has also introduced a trend of translation of old manuscripts and explanation of historical agreements/documents by to bring the hidden and ignored truths on surface in the field of column writing. In his PhD thesis, he has critically analyzed the post 9/11 strategic relationships between United States and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He examined the official documents and reports of said States in his dissertation.
