Meet & Greet Session with Prof. Dr. Zakria Zakar

The Department of Gender Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore, had the privilege of hosting a "Meet & Greet" Conversation with Prof. Dr. Zakria Zakar, Vice Chancellor, University of Kotli, AJK, and former Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab, Lahore, the University of Okara, the University of Sahiwal, and the University of Rawalakot.
The distinguished guest was warmly welcomed by the faculty and staff of the department. Prof. Dr. Ra'ana Malik, former Chairperson, Department of Gender Studies, along with Prof. Dr. Rubeena Zakar current Chairperson, faculty and staff members, presented a bouquet to Prof. Dr. Zakria Zakar as a token of respect and appreciation.
During the interactive session, Prof. Dr. Zakria Zakar engaged in a thought-provoking discussion with faculty members on various gender and social issues deeply rooted in society. He emphasized the importance of building organic relationships and institutional attachment, stating:
"Transformation is temporary, but organic relationships are permanent."
Prof. Dr. Zakar also shared his insights on the emerging challenges facing the higher education sector. He highlighted the need for universities to adapt to changing academic and market demands by:
• Strengthening research productivity and quality
• Enhancing student enrollment through innovative strategies
• Launching new degree programs aligned with market needs
• Integrating Gender Studies with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Smart Technologies
• Promoting skill-based learning for sustainable income generation and employability
• Utilizing modern digital and social media campaigns to attract prospective students
He encouraged faculty members to proactively respond to contemporary educational trends and contribute to building a dynamic and future-oriented academic environment.
The session concluded with Prof. Dr. Zakria Zakar extended a cordial invitation to all faculty members to visit the University of Kotli, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, for future academic collaboration and exchange.
