LAHORE: (Thursday, November 30, 2023): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood has said that development of research culture according to modern trends is the most important need of the hour. He was addressing the 14th Post Graduate Students Conference on ‘21st Century: Trends in Educational Research’ organized by Punjab University Institute of Education and Research at Waheed Shaheed Hall on Thursday. On this occasion, Director IER Prof Dr Tariq Mahmood Chaudhry, Chairman Department of Advanced Studies in Education Prof Dr Muhammad Shahid Farooq, researchers, academicians, faculty members and students were present. In his address, PU VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood said that the use of technology has changed the research work. He said that the idea of artificial intelligence is emerging rapidly. He said that we should learn from developed countries and give priority to research work based on solving our local problems. He said that applied, action and experimental research is very important to deal with future challenges. He praised Punjab University Institute of Education and Research for organizing the conference. Dr Tariq Mahmood Chaudhry said that research is the real education which we are all gathered on this platform to learn. He said that PU IER will continue to play a dynamic role to promote the culture of research in the country. Dr Shahid Farooq thanked PU VC, organizers, researchers and scholars. He said that forty research papers are being presented in the conference, the aim of which is to develop the research tendency among the students.
